Reference laboratory services are available to conduct susceptibility testing for omadacycline for various organisms.
Mayo Clinic Laboratories will conduct omadacycline susceptibility testing by the agar dilution method for the following organisms: Klebsiella pneumoniae complex, Enterobacter cloacae complex, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus lugdunensis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus anginosus, Streptococcus intermedius, Streptococcus constellatus, Enterococcus faecalis and faecium isolates. Additional organisms may be available for testing upon request but require lab director approval.
A listing of the antimicrobials routinely tested as well as antimicrobials that may be tested upon request can be found on the public website under ‘special instructions’: https://www.mayocliniclabs.com/test-catalog/Specimen/8073
Sites that are not currently clients should contact Mayo Clinic Laboratories at 800-533-1710 to obtain instructions on how to prepare isolates for testing.
Laboratory Specialists Inc (LSI) will conduct omadacycline testing by broth microdilution for most Gram-positive, Gram-negative, fastidious and nonfastidious organisms.
Please contact info@labspec.org or call 440-835-4458 for additional information.
A listing of antimicrobials that can be tested, additional information, and the isolate submission form are available on the LSI website at http://www.labspec.org/reference-laboratory-mic-testing-of-new-antimicrobial-agents/.
ARUP Laboratories will conduct omadacycline susceptibility testing by the broth microdilution method for the following organisms: Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae complex, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis. Testing may also be performed on Enterobacteriaceae (except for Proteus, Providencia and Morganella species). E. faecium will be reported as an MIC only. *Streptococcus species will be tested depending on specimen source and require lab director approval.
Please call (800) 522-2787 or visit https://www.aruplab.com/about/contact for additional information.
University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, TX will conduct susceptibility testing for nontuberculous mycobacteria upon request.
You may access the UT Health Science Microbiology Department website and requisition forms at https://www.uthct.edu/microbiology
